Putting together this gallery for Michael has been an inspirational experience. Throughout the great many years I have known Michael, we have had moments of heartfelt contact. This was definitely one of those. And since those moments seem to become more rare as the years go by, I am especially grateful for one during which I can help celebrate him, his talent, and his success and finally whisper a thank-you to him for teaching me about silhouettes and discovering colors in nature I had never before seen, and most importantly, for sharing, so many years ago, a “jewel of light” from his own past with me, through sweet memories of his sister.
